The word "Kundalini" comes from a Sanskrit term 'Kundal' which literally translates to "coiled". This energy is often represented as a dormant serpent, coiled up at the bottom of your spine. It supposedly waits for the right moment to awaken and travel through the seven energy centers (also known as chakras) in your body.
